Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Didn''''''''t your dentist explain your choices and associated costs to you? They should have. Your alternative is to have the tooth removed. Costs $150-300. If you elect to be sedated, that will cost more. Cost of a molar root canal are in the 800-$1000 range. Most teeth will need a good crown following a root canal with additional costs of $1200-1600. In addition, if the tooth was badly broken down, it may need a post and core before the crown could be put on, with added costs of $200-400. If you have the tooth pulled, you need to consider a replacement. The reasons are too many to state here but the most important reason is so that your jaw bone does not shrink. A dental implant is the best choice to preserve the bone but there are other treatment choices. There is more information at www.PaoliDentist.com in the smile solutions section. David M. Cost Estimate: $2500 for endo and crown, 3500 for implant
Essentially, none. You could get this tooth extracted, but then the cost of replacement with a dental implant would be over $3000.00, so, it makes sense to save the tooth with a root canal, and crown. Just make sure the root canal is done by a Endodontist, not a general dentist, as it gives you a better chance of sucess. Molors are sometimes tricky, and you are better off having a specialist do it.
