Case Description
I don't know what to do - just came back from my dentist, he started fixing an old root canal job (4 canals), in order to prepare the tooth for a crown ( didn't have one after the original root canal, probably because I didn't came back to the dentist). So he put some medication, and the temporary crown, and told me to schedule an appointment in order to perform a gum surgery on the tooth (too ruined to place a crown, need more place). Now I just found out that I must move to Philadelphia within few weeks, so I can't finish it here. Can another dentist continue such a procedure? What can be an estimated cost for this in US? Maybe I can do the gum surgery before leaving - should I? I also must have a whisdom tooth extraction - to do it before or after this toot (they are close, one tooth between them). Thank you for your help and time!

Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

It is better to have the gum surgery with your new dentist; a periodontist in my practice can do this treatment. The fee is approx. $675-725,depending on thespecific procedure. The crown will be approx. $1000.00.If a newcore buildup isneeded it will add $ 220 to the fee.But you need to move quickly since any more decay or fracturing could compromise the prognosis for keeping the tooth.Contact method by phone only
